Playwork is a unique professional approach developed on adventure playgrounds in the United Kingdom. A playworker's job is to protect space and time for children's activities that are "freely chosen, personally directed, and intrinsically motivated." This can mean anything from hosting play sessions at park to getting involved in local politics to 

 

While in the US playwork is a burgeoning field, there is a growing need and desire to put children's play back on the agenda. If you are interested in organizing play sessions in your community please reach out to us.
